Join us at the 2017 Healthy Families Expo!!
Activate Allen County is excited to invite the whole community to the 2017 Healthy Families Expo! This event will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10 am- 1 pm at the Downtown Lima Civic and Convention Center. This will be a FREE, fun, family friendly event that we hope provides a great way to have fun as a family, all while keeping the focus on health and most importantly- Healthy Families! We hope that all Allen County residents take part in this free event! This event is being sponsored by Lima/Allen County Regional Transit Authority, Lima Memorial Health System, Sphere Virtual Reality, St Rita’s Health Partners and Ultrasound Party and Events.
There is something for all ages at the Expo! Some of the great things being planned include an 100 foot zip line down Main Street (weather permitting), inflatable obstacle course, face painting from Art Me!, virtual reality demos and over 30 vendor booths with information about services and free goodies to give out! All of this, plus you will have a chance to meet your favorite superheros and princesses! This is an event that you do not want to miss out on.
We have brought in guest speaker Andy Dooley, 2016 Face of Reebok One and Lima native to talk with families. He will be discussing ways for families to start adapting a healthier diet and a more active lifestyle. Not only does this presentation apply to families, but all individuals! On the stage inside the Civic Center, there will be fun demos throughout the event including a Zumba demo, cheer demo with GymStars, dance demo with Lyn’s Academy of Dance, and fitness class demos with the Lima Family YMCA.
All of this, plus a chance to win some great raffle prizes by attending the event and visiting our vendor booths. Some of our great prizes include a night at Wingate, bikes, NFL tickets, family 4 pack of tickets to a local amusement park, cooking utensils, YMCA memberships, and more! RTA rides are free all day on Saturday as well. We are excited to present this fun and FREE event to the community and we hope to see you all on Saturday, August 12 from 10 am- 1 pm at the Civic Center for the 2017 Health Families Expo!
