We are excited to announce our partnership with a local food truck- Nourish U. This mobile kitchen is owned by two sisters- Alisha Frost and Melissa Metz and is based in Wapakoneta. Due to being frustrated with the highly processed and convenience food items that are so easy to obtain, yet not nutritious for us to consume, they decided to offer a solution to the community. This solution came as a food truck/mobile kitchen that offers the convenience of food and drinks on the go with the added nutrition component that is normally missing in many convenience food options. Now their mission is to provide fresh and nourishing food to go while educating the community about whole foods and the health benefits surrounding the ingredients and menu options that they serve. Alisha Frost explains; “We saw a need in the community for these types of foods. There was just nothing like this and my sister and I decided to start to work together and fill this need in the community. We are committed to creating drinks and foods that really enhance customer’s health and taste great as well.”

Currently, Nourish U offers a wide variety of blended fruit and vegetable drinks made without dairy, soy and refined sugar. For example, the “Coco Loco” is made with rice milk, avocado, bananas, cocoa powder, maple syrup and cocoa nibs. Nourish U offers a weekly pre-order menu, by phone or email the week prior. This menu does change weekly. Each item included in the meal is made from scratch with local produce and ingredients when possible. Most menus are dairy and gluten free. When ordering, you have the option of 2 servings or 4 servings and pick-up/delivery times are set on an individual basis when you place your order. These meals offer customers a break from cooking, but also provide a nutritious meal and the opportunity to try dishes that you may not normally cook for yourself.

All of Nourish U’s offerings meet the nutritional guidelines for our Active Menu Challenge and we are pleased to have the opportunity to work with them as they strive to educate residents and provide healthful food throughout the area. For a schedule of locations and upcoming events where Nourish U will be present, please visit their website- www.nourishu.net. Here you can find a full menu of blended fruit and vegetable drinks, ingredient information and a schedule. You can also like their Facebook page (Nourish U) to get further updates and information about upcoming preorder menus and contact information.
